The Greater Indianapolis Lemonade Day initiative is a FREE city-wide initiative designed to teach youth how to start, own and operate their own business. It is a fun and easy way to teach kids about the basics of business ownership and financial planning. When a child participates in a Lemonade Day program, they learn to manage a business; create a plan for success and follow it through. Since launching in 2010...75,500 kids have participated in #LemonadeDayIndy.
The Entrepreneurs for a Day E4D® program is dedicated to teaching 5th grade students the fundamental principles of entrepreneurship and personal economics. Students learn the distinct differences between becoming an entrepreneur and being an employee. One of the goals of the program is to get students thinking about being a job creator vs. being a job taker. Students are encouraged to understand entrepreneurship as a viable career pathway. Skills obtained in this program include: business planning, financial literacy, marketing concepts, work place concepts, social responsibility and team building.
